Nancy Campbell reported that Judy Ranville has retired as head of the Mackinaw City Library. The position has been advertised, and there have been 14 applications thus far.

The job requires working 32 hours per week. Because the position only pays between $15,000 and $20,000, it is not expected that this would suffice as a full time job. The recent book sale was a success but there are still books available. The summer reading program is being planned and will be posted when available.

The budget for the new fiscal year starting April 1, 2006, was reviewed and discussed. Motion by Bertchinger, second by Davis that budget be accepted as presented.

Roll Call: Yes: Bertchinger, Keck, Rogala, Dean, Davis.

Budget accepted as presented for Budget Hearing on March 14, 2006.

The discussion then centered on the agreement with the Village of Mackinaw City which provides both fire and ambulance service to the township. A letter from the Village was received by the township concerning the agreement for these services.

Roger Moore of Wawatam Township touched on the discussions being held by their township board members. The agreement by Mackinaw township board members resulted in the following actions: A letter will be sent to the Village thanking them for the letter sent to the township and further reporting that the Board is researching all aspects of the agreement and will contact the Village as soon as possible. It was agreed that meetings would be set up with two members of both Mackinaw and Wawatam Township to continue discussion.

Treasurer's Report was presented as follows:

Financial Reports for expenditures thru January were also distributed to the Board members.
